Seattle, JUNE 11, 2021 - Throughout POPULATION: ONE's continued development, Oculus has been an incredible partner and today we're taking the next big step. Much of this is thanks to you, the amazing POPULATION: ONE community, for making us the most social first-person shooter in VR.
Joining Oculus Studios enables us to do what we're already doing, just bigger and better.
You have a few questions, we’ve got a few answers!
How will this affect POPULATION: ONE?
The POPULATION: ONE you know and love won’t be affected by BigBox VR joining Oculus Studios. The game will stay on all of its current platforms and will continue regular updates.
Will this affect the community?
Nope! The POPULATION: ONE community will remain unaffected. We’re staying on Discord, Facebook, Instagram, Reddit, and everywhere else— everything will operate as normal. And you’ll still see some of us in-game from time to time too!
Will Early Access Playtests be affected?
Absolutely not! Iterating with the community is what made POPULATION: ONE what it is today!
What will BigBox VR be working on as part of Oculus Studios?
We are fully focused on POPULATION: ONE! We have a lot planned, but we’re not ready to share details yet. Stay tuned!
Will you be developing for Quest, Rift, and Steam VR?
Yep! We’re continuing to release and support Steam + Oculus just like we have before. This includes SteamVR headsets such as HTC Vive, Valve Index, etc.
Why did BigBox VR join Oculus Studios?
We’ve enjoyed a great, successful partnership with Oculus Studios for several years . Becoming part of the Oculus Studios family will give us the opportunity to pursue bigger features, and connect even more people through virtual reality and games.
